About us

Lowe Family Wine Co is a small to medium sized producer based in Mudgee NSW and drawing grapes from vineyards in the central west, principally Mudgee & Orange.

Our winery,, now a certified organic facility, specializes in small batch winemaking using innovative techniques . Our vineyards are un trellised, un irrigated and certified organic producing lower yields of distinctively individual grapes one of four flag ship varieties being Zinfandel. We leading the field with practical sustainable management in both our vineyards and farm

Distribution in NSW & Victoria concentrates mainly on restaurants & independent bottle shops.

The principals of the company are David Lowe & Jane Wilson.

David Lowe

David has been working in the wine industry since the age of 15. He qualified with winemaking degree from Roseworthy college in 1979 and started his career at Rothbury Estate in 1978 rising to become chief winemaker & group vineyard manger. During this period Rothbury was an extremely high profile Hunter Valley company under the chairman Len Evans . David has spent 5 vintages in Bordeaux, France as a flying winemaker. David is currently head of the New South Wales Wine Industry Association and NSW representative of the Wine Federation.

Jane Wilson

Jane Wilson has a degree in Veterinary Medicine & Surgery from Glasgow University qualifying in 1982 and is responsible for the vintage winemaking, farm management and export sales. She has been making wine for 9 years and has spent 2 vintages in Bordeaux, 1 in Beaujolais and one in California. She has been heavily involved in the development of sustainable farming techniques in the Central West for the last 5 years.
